I need to expand my vocabulary

I need a new word to replace "lover". Or, not to replace it, but to allow for more specificity in the description. I can use "lover" to refer to the guy I've been not-infrequently fucking for the last year, who I also enjoy spending time with outside of the bedroom and even sometimes out in public. I can also use "lover" to refer to the guy who I see every 3-4 months only for sex and for conversation between bouts of sex. And I can use "lover" to talk about the guy I fucked once and may fuck again someday... But it only really feels right for the first.

I'd really like to call the other two something else. But I know people will get the wrong idea if I call someone my "fucker". What terms to you use?

Welcome, 2007!

Happy new year, all! I hope everyone had a delightful vacation (those who got one) and enjoyed whatever celebrating or not-celebrating you might have done last night. I rang in the new year by kissing as many of the attractive people in my presence as I could over the course of the night. It was great.

I've been thinking about new year's resolutions, and I'm not sure I have any. I mean, I could say I'm resolved to fulfill more fantasies (mine and others) in the coming year, but, well, that's what I've been doing, anyway, so I'm gonna just keep on with it. I could say that I'd like the opportunity to toss my drink in a man's face, just to say I have, but that would mean I have to go on a date with someone who pisses me off enough that I let go of all my deeply-rooted manners. That doesn't sound like fun.

Okay, no new year's resolutions for me, then. But what about you?

Who do you make passes at?

Okay, guys, I have a question for you:

What inspires to to hit on a woman in public? What are the factors that you take into account? Does it change depending on the venue (i.e., a party, a bar, on the sidewalk, at a cafe, etc)?

Cluechick draws a blank. What are you dying to know?

Tonight, uninspired by anything particularly outstanding -- either good or bad -- happening in the last week, I'm completely stymied for a topic of discussion. Thus, I turn to you all. What would you like me to talk about in the next couple of weeks?

Of course, if you don't ask me anything, I'll just have to come up with more boring advice. You wouldn't want that, right?

Why don't you tell me what you'd like me to talk about?

I was going to post an interesting bit on age and dating, but I'm kinda tired, so instead, I'm going the lazy way, and opening this up for comments or emails. If there's something you'd like me to address in the next couple of weeks, drop me a note, and I'll see if I don't have some thoughts about it. (Some of you have already done this. Those posts are upcoming!)

Categorizing classic types on Craig's List and personals sites

I'm back! Did you all miss me?

Actually, I can see that you couldn't possibly have missed me, because Sapiophile is brilliant. In fact, I'm feeling a little outclassed. But I'll get over it. In the meantime, she retains the keys to the castle, so perhaps she'll drop in and post from time to time. In fact, I had an idea for when I'm rich and famous -- we could do charity auctions for lunch with me and Sapiophile. Of course, we'd have to come up with an appropriate charity. And, well, I have to become rich and famous first, too. Maybe that's an idea best left to the distant future.

At any rate, I hope you all have had fabulous luck meeting and hooking up with new people in the last week or so. While I was gone, I received several emails from people, including a couple of women, who wrote to gripe about some of those classic scenarios that I've discussed or hinted at in the past. I'm tempted to put up a page of these guys: the "young at heart" or the "only good online" and the like.

Women, if you have a type you'd like to see featured along those lines, let me know. Men, I'm sure you run into some classy types, too, so you can fill me in on those, as well. I know it's not just men who manage to inspire eye-rolling.

Should ClueChick be more risque?

In thinking of ways to expand my readership, one of my friends suggested that I should write the occasional review of my fun hookups -- a bit of erotica to spice things up. Although I'm not convinced of my ability to write porn that's not excruciatingly painful, I may give it a shot, but I also wanted to throw the question out to my readers, since, ostensibly, my mission here is to give advice, not share the details of my escapades.

So, what do you think? Can ClueChick exist as both an advice-blog and an occasional erotica-blog?

What do you call your genitals?

Today, I have a question for my readership, not about online hookups, but about what you call your genitals. Not to worry; this question does arise out of a hookup I arranged via CL recently, so it's relevant.

I'm accustomed to calling my body parts by various appropriate (and sometimes delightfully inappropriate) labels, or "it" or "they". I don't think of any of my body parts as specifically gendered (ie, I don't think of my pussy as "she"). Similarly, my lovers' penis is "it", their balls are "they", etc.

But I was with this fellow, and he called his penis "him". As in, "You want to touch him?" Now, I know most men name their penises, and perhaps this leads to a bit of personification. Is it common for you fellows to think of your penis as "him"? If so, do you talk about him that way with your lovers, or do you switch to "it" for your lovers' sakes?

Inquiring minds want to know!
